I love to paint! Shockingly, however, I may love to talk even more… I love to meet people, converse, ramble, share stories, question, debate, ponder, learn and grow. Most, if not all of my inspiration comes from this most basic interaction. Emotions relayed through a glance can say even more than the words themselves and this is what I aim to capture in many of my paintings.
Travel enables me to exchange with many people from different walks of life. By never settling down, you never grow a shell, never adapt to a single comfort zone. New foods, new people, new climate, cultures and situations all lend themselves to self-reflection and growth. To see the world from different vantage points, a constant observer of the world around us, builds curiosity and a familiarity with the unfamiliar.
Music is a huge feature in almost every culture, likewise, for me, another huge stimulation. A certain genre or even a single song has carried my brush from start to finish in a great deal of my pieces. There is something hypnotic about music that allows me to lose time, space and self… becoming enveloped in the synesthesia of color and vibration. With almost all commissions I request a song, the soundtrack of the process…
